Job Stories From Blodgett, OR
Water Coming Through Basement Floor in Blodgett, OR

This homes basement had water entering up through the poured floor. Minor cracks were appearing near the foundation walls and water was more evident along these cracks. The homeowners wanted to address this water issue before it worsened, so they called up John's Waterproofing to get hear about their options.

To begin our work we dug a trench along the interior perimeter, where we installed a bed of gravel with our WaterGuard drainage system. The walls then had our BrightWall paneling installed over it. Water will be guided from the walls down to the drain system and groundwater will collect in the drain system. All water is then graded to a TripleSafe sump pump to be pumped out and away from the homes foundation. A SaniDry dehumidifier was then installed to keep the air dry and healthy, ensuring this space won't have to worry about mold or mildew growth.

Finished Basement has Water Issues in Blodgett, OR

When water gets into a finished basement, a plethora of issues can occur. When their basement carpeting was damp, this homeowner knew they needed to act fast. They pulled the furnishings away from the walls and began pulling back the carpet, exposing standing water. They began to touch the lower potions of their drywall, to find it was squishy and the baseboards were pulling away from the walls. Knowing that this problem was to big to do on their own, they called up John's Waterproofing. A system designer than sat with the homeowner and discussed the options for moving forward. The homeowner was thrilled to hear we could demo the damaged work, waterproof the space, and refinish it. Being their one stop basement solution.

To begin we removed the damaged items from the basement. We then dug a trench along the interior perimeter and we installed a WaterGuard drain system which we graded to a low spot where we installed a SuperSump Plus to then dispel the water well away from the homes foundation to a LawnScape outlet. For the walls we then installed WellDucts, ensuring any moisture from around the windows is guided down the walls to the drain system, then covering the walls with ThermalDry radiant wall barriers to provide a vapor barrier and insulation. The homeowners still wanted to install carpeting, so we installed a ThermalDry tile system that carpeting can be attached to.  A SaniDry dehumidifier was brought in and installed to keep the humidity controlled. As a final step out finishing department came out and refinished the space.

Finished Basement with Wet Carpeting - Blodgett, OR

This finished basement had been finished years back. The homeowners had never thought much about waterproofing until they noticed their carpet was squishy and wet along the foundation walls. The homeowners were worried about prolong water damage and moved their items out of the basement, and pulled up the carpeting throughout the space. Next they set up fans to help address the dampness and called up John's Waterproofing for assistance. We sent out a design specialist who did a full inspection to see the extent of the water issues. They then sat down with the homeowners to discuss, answer questions, and find a solution.

To begin working, we had to remove the drywall that had water damage. We then used a jackhammer to create a trench along the interior perimeter and installed WaterGuard. This will collect groundwater and grade it to a newly installed SuperSump pump which sends water well away from the foundation to a LawnScape outlet. We then installed ThermalDry radiant barrier along the foundation walls to both insulate and be a vapor barrier. We then had out finishing department refinish the walls and install ThermalDry Matting on the floor. This will not mold or rot and works as an underlayment tile for carpeting to go over. The homeowners are thrilled with how the finished space looks and relived to know it is properly waterproofed.

Finished Basement with Water Issue - Blodgett, OR

This homeowner called us after finding their finished basement carpeting wet in multiple places. They had removed the items from their basement, and pulled up the carpeting to try to allow the space to dry. They had fans going and had to use a shop-vac to pull up water in one of the rooms. The homeowners knew they had a real water issue, and reached out to John's Waterproofing for a solution crafted to help protect this living space.

To begin our crew removed the damaged walls and dug a trench along the interior parameter. Here we installed a WaterGaurd drainage system in a gravel bed. This will naturally grade to a SuperSump Plus which directs the water safely out and away from he homes foundation. We then installed a ThermalDry radiant barrier along the foundation walls to direct water to the drain system to protect the home. We then installed our Total Basement Finishing matting which can have the carpeting installed over it, creating a safe space between the concrete flooring and the carpet. So if any water issues arise again, the home will be protected. Our finishing crew came out a few days later and re-finished the space so that the homeowners could fully enjoy this space without stressing over water issues.

Leaky Basement Solution - Blodgett, OR

In this instance, a contractor contacted John's Waterproofing for an inspection. He was remodeling a basement for a customer and was concerned about the water that came in during a rainstorm just prior to him starting the work. It was clear that this had to be addressed first. A System Designer met with the contractor and the owner. Together they inspected the basement from both the interior and exterior. The System Designer got out his computer and explained to them how hydrostatic pressure was pushing the water in at the footing and how John's Waterproofing could give them a lifetime warranty on the patented WaterGuard System.

Some weeks later, an Installation Crew arrived to do the work. They began by breaking out 6" of concrete around the perimeter to install the WaterGuard. It was placed on top of the footing in a bed of gravel and inspection ports were strategically placed, terminating at the SuperSump location. Well Ducts were installed at the below-grade windows and ThermalDry wall system was fastened to walls and both were inserted into the flange at the back of the WaterGuard to insure any wall seepage or window well overflow was directed into the system. ThermalDry also aids in the insulation of the basement. Next, ThermalDry Flooring was laid down so the moisture that is always present in basement floors would keep away from the carpet being laid in the remodel. Homeowners also invested in a SaniDry XP to keep the air clean and dry.

Now this homeowner could invest in his basement remodel with confidence that it will stay dry and healthy.

Water in a

These homeowners had their basement finished and were dismayed when, after a few years, they found water coming in through several areas. A System Designer explained to the homeowner that it was not uncommon for a basement to be dry for years and suddenly flood due to torrential rain or new construction in the area or any other reason that water can change its underground path or saturate the ground. He also noted that there were yard drainage issues that needed addressing.

Our installation crew was sent out and got to work addressing each issue.  First, the wet carpeting and pad had to be removed as well as the bottom 3' of the drywall and framing. WaterGuard was installed around the perimeter to gather the incoming water and lead it to a TripleSafe Sump System. From here the water was sent out and connected to a newly extended downspout drainage system to keep the water away from the home. Because 50% of the air from a basement flows up into the main home, the homeowner opted for a SaniDry dehumidifier to make sure the air in the basement and home stayed dry and clean. The homeowners then opted to refinish the space but were so happy that we could set them up properly so their basement could stay dry and healthy.

Water Sliding Down Exterior Basement Stairs, Blodgett, OR

It is common to find an exterior basement entrance having water issues. If these stairways are exposed to rain and water runoff without a drainage system in place, they become an easy way for water to gain access to the basement. This home had that issue, water was running down the stairs and pooling around the basement doorway on the outside and inside. To clear out the water and find a solution, the homeowners called in John's Waterproofing.

Our crews began by creating a trench along the interior perimeter of the basement. For the doorway we installed a TrenchDrain that has an exposed grate to collect any water that goes over it, for the rest of the space we installed a WaterGaurd drainage system which is cemented over for a clean and dry look. These work together to collect groundwater as well as any water that comes down the stairway and diverts it to the newly installed SuperSump that then pushes all water a safe distance away from the home to a LawnScape outlet. This keeps water away from the basement, and from the foundation of the home, letting it stay dry and healthy.

Water in Basement, Pooling by Downspouts - Blodgett, OR

The homeowners noticed that all six of the downspouts on their home had excessive pooling and the corresponding places in their basement were experiencing water issues. The added exterior water pressure was taking its toll, and the homeowners were ready to take the step to address this issue before it persisted, so they called John's Waterproofing.

To begin this project, we started by adding in underground pipes to divert the downspout water out and away from the home. This would new safely exist via new LawnScape outlets to protect the homes foundation. Since the home had porous concrete walls, we wanted to ensure that any water that still made its way into the basement was properly handled as well. Our install crew broke the concrete flooring along the interior walls enough that we could install a WaterGuard Pipe system. The exterior doorways in the basement had a TrenchDrain installed to combat any excess water that entered through that entryway. This new pipe system pulled the water to the new SuperSump that then took the water out and away from the home.

The basement is now dry, and the home is no longer experiencing pooling around the homes foundation.

Dry Basement in Blodgett, Oregon

We received a call from a homeowner in Blodgett, Oregon who was frustrated after a power outage had caused his sump pump to fail and his basement to flood. Our crew went out to the home to help. They first installed WaterGuard piping system along the perimeter of the basement. WaterGuard intercepts water coming into the basement through the walls and floors and then drain the water safely and unseen into the sump pump. This homeowner also had a TripleSafe sump pump installed in his basement. The TripleSafe sump pump has three separate pumps to make sure that the homeowner's basement was triple protected. If the primary pump fails or if there is too much water for one pump to handle then the second pump kicks in. Together they can pump 6200 gallons of water per hour out of the basement. The third pump, which is battery operated, is there in case of power outages. Now this homeowner can have peace of mind knowing that his basement will stay dry no matter what the circumstances.
