Job Stories From Ashwood, OR
Dry Environment, Bug Problem in the Crawlspace - Ashwood, OR

This homeowner knew that they didn't have a water issue, but they had been spotting more bugs and critters around their home, and under their home. Homeowners were a bit nervous about these living under their home, and wanted to clear out the crawlspace before the issue called for an exterminator. They called up John's Waterproofing for a solution.

Our crew began by removing the debris from under the home. We then brought in CleanSpace. This 20 Mil vapor barrier is woven and comes with a twenty five year warranty against rips and tears. We then air sealed the space and sealed up the vents. This will deter bugs and critters from entering this space. We also installed a SaniDry dehumidifier as an added layer to make the crawlspace undesirable for critters. The homeowners were thrilled with how clean and bright the crawlspace now looked.

Chew Marks in Old Vapor Barrier - Ashwood, OR

This homeowner had an infestation of critters a few years back. They had an exterminator out to remediate the issue. To try to prevent further issues their decided to lay down a 6 Mil plastic barrier, and they duct taped it along to walls to try to seal out unwanted guests. However, after a couple years they checked under their home and discovered chew marks in the plastic, and signs of nesting. They contacted their exterminator again and were referred to John's Waterproofing.

Our installation crew arrived and removed the DIY job from under the home. We then sealed up the vents, and air sealed as needed to keep out smaller animals. We then brought in our CleanSpace vapor barrier. This is a woven 20 Mil material with a twenty-five year warranty against rips and tears. This is installed under each wooden pier, anchored fully along the foundation walls, and sealed in place with a specialized waterproof, four inch thick tape.

Leaky Basement Solution - Ashwood, OR

The homeowner wanted to clean up the basement and keep it dry for them to use for storage and laundry. A System Designer was sent to the home, and after a thorough inspection, a solution was crafted. We would install the award-winning WaterGuard System which is accompanied by a warranty which, so long as the pump was operating, the WaterGuard would gather the water and direct it to the pumps.

When the crew arrived, we began by breaking out 6" of concrete around the perimeter to install the WaterGuard. It was placed on top of the footing in a bed of gravel and inspection ports were strategically placed with the WaterGuard terminating at the SuperSump pump. BrightWall, a wall system, was fastened to the walls and inserted into the flange at the back of the WaterGuard to ensure any wall seepage was directed into the system. BrightWall is a textured wall system that lightens and brightens the basement and drives any wall moisture into the system.  Homeowners also invested in a SaniDry XP to keep the air clean and dry.

Sinking Post on Historic Home - Ashwood, OR

As a building sits it typically settles in its space. This occurs over the years and is subtle. This old building was showing its age though as it settled and the crawlspace ended up not meeting code. To keep this space protected and legal, it needed a dig out.

Our crew arrived and first cleared out the old vapor barrier. Our crew then dug out an average of 11 inches from under the building. Once it was up to code again, we laid down a 6 Mil vapor barrier and will check it annually to ensure the home stays dry and healthy.

Manufactured Home Has Critters in the Crawlspace - Ashwood, OR

The homeowners had found some evidence that critters had broke through their vent covers and were living under their home. While no infestation had occurred, they did want to put in place a system that would keep the critters from getting under their home. While they could just replace the vent covers, they knew that those had been broken into once, so it could happen again. They also had a dirt crawlspace floor, which meant that if a critter could dig, it could get under their home even if the vent covers did hold up. For a solution, they called John's Waterproofing.

Our crew began by cleaning up the debris under the home. Next they isolated the piers under the home and sealed the crawlspace with CleanSpace. This is a 20 Mil woven vapor barrier that comes with our 25 tear and ripe warranty. We stand behind the longevity of this product and how we install it. Once this was properly sealed in the crawlspace we replaced the vent covers.

The homeowners were very pleased that their home was safe critter damage.

Well Duct Drain in Ashwood, OR

John's Waterproofing was called by a homeowner who was concerned about the water leakage coming in and causing flooding in his unfinished basement. Upon inspection, Jacob concluded that the flooded window well was leaking in from the frame, allowing water into the basement and flooding the floor. He suggested installing a Well Duct Window Well Drain and Waterguard perimeter drain system.

Juan and his team began the repairs by cleaning out the window well on the outside and filling it with new stone and grate. This allows the water to drain out of the well and direct through a hole drilled through the wall to the inside just below the window sill. The water then runs down the inside of the installed Well Ductsleeved with a pipe to prevent water from touching the concrete wall. The Well Duct works perfectly with our patented Waterguard perimeter drain system that collects incoming water from the walls and floors and is virtually invisible.

Now that our system are in place, Fred no longer has to worry about flooding in his basement and has a clean, usable space again.
