This home was going onto the market. During inspection, it was found that the electrical panel that was used, had been recalled and would need to be replaced for it to pass inspection. At the recommendation of the inspector, the homeowner called up John's Waterproofing to work with our electrical department. We sent out an electrician and we had the entire panel changed out for one that would pass inspection. Once finished we tested the entire system and this house was good to go. 

This homeowner called us after their crawlspace had flooded. They had known their crawlspace was in poor condition, but thought they could wait a bit longer before handling it, unfortunately the heavy rains had other plans. The homeowners called us up for a free inspection to discuss crawlspace repair options. We sent out a design specialist who performed a full inspection and then sat down to discuss their homes waterproofing options. At the end of the discussion they decided to move forward a with a full crawlspace encapsulation. 

To begin our crew needed to dry out the space, we did a full dry out and once the space was ready our crew arrived to clear out the old vapor barrier, the falling fiberglass insulation, as well as the other miscellaneous debris. We then installed a full drainage system within the crawlspace, this is graded along to the lowest spot in the crawlspace where we installed a TripleSafe sump pump to divert water out and away from the homes foundation. We then insulated the dirt floor with TerraBlock insulation and brought in CleanSpace, a 20 Mil vapor barrier. This goes under each wooden post, attaches along the rim joists, and is taped into place with a special waterproof four inch wide tape. The walls were insulated with Spray Foam and a SaniDry dehumidifier installed to ensure no mold will grow here. With the vents fully sealed, they home can now remain dry and healthy! 

Homeowners often call us for a 6 Mil vapor barrier replacement. A 6 mil is not the barrier to use long term, and needs to be replaced every few years or as needed. They are apt to rips and tears and move easily if they are walked on or heavy water passes below it. For this reason we prefer to offer customers a full encapsulation which is a long term waterproofing solution. However, depending on a families income and life needs, sometimes a 6 mil is requested. This homeowner called to get their six mil replaced. After our design specialist looked over the crawlspace, they noticed the barrier had shifted quite a bit since they had it installed, so we offered a solution that would help the 6 Mil do its job for a little longer. 

Our installation crew arrived and began by removing the old 6 Mil vapor barrier and debris from under the home. We then installed a pipe and pump system. This included a three inch perforated pipe system throughout the space to collect groundwater and grade it to a newly installed SmartSump pump which pushes the water safely out and away from the homes foundation. We then brought in a new 6 Mil vapor barrier. We overlapped sections and ran the barrier up the walls to help it last a bit longer. While we will still need to keep an eye on the barrier, this should give the system a longer life span. 

This homeowner had begun to use their basement space more, while it was unfinished it became a nice space for the family to use for a playroom. After using the space for a while, they realized some of the walls were damp to the touch when heavy rains occurred, and a musty smell would develop. To ensure the space would be safe and healthy for the family to keep using, they reached out to John's Waterproofing. 

Our installation crew began by installing a WaterGuard along the interior parameter in a trench. This would have BrightWall panels installed along the walls to direct moisture down to the drainage system. From there the system graded to a TripleSafe sump pump. From here water was sent out and away from the home. We also installed a SaniDry dehumidifier to help keep the air clean and dry. 

The homeowner wanted to finish her wet, smelly basement, so she called on John's Waterproofing to solve the persistent water problem and make sure she didn't have to worry about her basement after investing in a remodel. A System Designer was sent out a few weeks later and discovered problems from damaged and clogged downspouts as well as high water tables.

This isolates the wooden portions of the foundation from the concrete parts to protect the longevity of the home.
