This dingy basement was an eyesore so it was used for nothing but storage before out crews came. They installed a drainage system as well as a wall system so now they have a beautifully finished space.

Job Stories From Mill City, OR
Whole Home Generator in Mill City, OR

To prepared for the unexpected, this homeowner wanted to have a whole home generator installed. They called up John's Waterproofing after learning we were the local Cummins dealer. John's is in a good position in which we can do the project in house from start to finish! To begin our crew set up a flat surface for the generator to be set upon. The generator was placed and we had our plumbers and electricians run lines from the home to the generator. Each line was installed and checked to ensure things were all in place. This generator hooks directly into the electrical panel and will switch on should any power outage occur.

Water Condensation on Crawlspace Walls - Mill City, OR

After a damp Spring, the homeowners went under their home and discovered condensation on the foundation walls in their crawlspace. No excessive puddling was present, but the wet to the touch was an issue, especially since some wooden support beams were damp. To put an end to this water issue, they called up John's Waterproofing. We sent out a design specialist who did a full inspection and crafted a solution to suit the home and homeowners needs.

To begin our crew pulled out the debris from under the home. We had a few places that needed Mold X2, and once those were addressed we installed a drainage system. This included a perforated pipe in a silt sock along the interior perimeter to guide water along to a newly installed TripleSafe sump pump which then dispels the water out and away from the home. Next we laid down TerraBlock insulation over the dirt floor and then encased the space with CleanSpace. This goes under each wooden post, anchors along the foundation walls, and secures in place with a four inch waterproof tape. The walls were then insulated with Spray Foam and each vent was sealed closed. As a final step we brought in a SaniDry dehumidifier to keep this space truly dry and healthy from here on out.

New Kitchen Faucet in Mill City, OR

This homeowner was upgrading their kitchen sink, and had purchased a new faucet. However, while looking to install it, they found it to be a bit harder than expected. They didnt want to mess up the installation, so they called up Johns Waterproofing. We had installed their water heater a couple of years back, so they were happy to invite our plumbers out again. They arrived, turned off the water and quickly switched out the old faucet for the new one. They turned on the water and checked that everything was set up and sealed as it should be. The homeowners were happy with how quick and easy it went!

Water Intruding into Basement in Mill City, OR

Water has a way of slowly exuding pressure onto a home until it can find a way in. This home had water begin with a section of the wall being damp to the touch. A year later, mold spores became evident on some of the items stored here. Next the homeowners found a small leak of water coming in along the basement egress window. And after that when heavy rains were present, there became a small pool of water along the floor. The homeowners were worried about what the next step in this issue would be, so they called up John's Waterproofing to help craft a solution.

To begin, our crew used a jackhammer along the interior parameter of the basement. In this space we laid down gravel and our WaterGuard drainage system. Since water issues had been around the egress window, we then replaced the egress windows, ensuring they would be waterproofed properly. The walls were then waterproofed with our BrightWall paneling. This is a waterproof material that is easy to clean, and durable, leaving the space with a semi-finished appearance. This will direct water down the wall safely to the new drainage system. From here, water is sent along to a TripleSafe sump pump, and then out and away from the home. As a final piece we installed a SaniDry dehumidifier to ensure the space wouldn't have further mold issues by keeping the moisture levels at bay.

Crawlspace Dirt is Moist to the Touch - Mill City, OR

Crawlspaces generally have dirt floors, and this one was wet to the touch. The crawlspace emitted a damp musty smell, and the homeowners were looking for a solution. To reclaim fresh and clean air in their home, they called up John's Waterproofing for help.

Our installation crews arrived and began by cleaning out the crawlspace. Once it was clean a three-inch perforated pipe system was installed to collect the groundwater and push it along to a newly installed SuperSump pump, and then out and away from the home to a LawnScape outlet. CleanSpace, a 20 Mil woven vapor barrier, was laid in the space. It was wrapped under each wooden post, anchored along the walls, and secured in place. This home will now remain dry and healthy, and the home above is experiencing clean and fresh air.

Updating An Old Homes Kitchen Sink Pipes - Mill City, OR

This homeowner had recently purchased an older home that had a pretty run-down kitchen. It had all been built in, and none of the kitchens fit a generic size palette. When this kitchen got a remodel, the old sink pipes were misaligned and wouldn't line up at all, so the homeowners called in John's Waterproofing.

Our plumbing division arrived and quickly got to work, we replace the old drainage pipes and waterlines to give the sink a standard size, so it would be easier for the homeowners to work on should they want to. Each pipe was moved to fit the new sink and our plumbers also hooked up a line so that a dishwasher could be installed. The homeowners were so grateful that they could get the plumbing aligned properly so their kitchen could come to life!

New Water Heater - Mill City, OR

The homeowners had a small water heater for their home. It was common to have to pause washing dishes to let the water heat up again, as well as needing to space out showers to ensure that people would have enough water to clean with. But, the homeowners were ready to change that, they wanted a new water heater and needed a professional to come in and install it. Since the new water heater was larger, they wanted to make sure that the system was set up properly and done to code.

To assist, our plumbing division went to help. After removing the old water heater, the new one was set in place. We upgraded their on demand W/H valves so it would work with the set up they had and in no time at all they had their new water heater tank up and going. They will no longer need to worry about running out of warm water while doing dishes and can now have people take back to back showers if needed.

We are happy to come out and ensure all your plumbing needs are done the right way, the first time around!

Dry Crawl Space in Mill City, OR

After receiving a call from a homeowner in Mill City, Oregon with complaints of water in their crawl space, our crew went out to the home to fix the problem. This home, like many other homes, had a vented crawl space. This means that any cold, hot or humid air from outside can and will come into the crawl space and therefore into the rest of the house. Our crews installed an insulated vent cover to fix this problem. Having this vent cover will help lower energy costs for the homeowner and improve air quality.

Another way our team helped lower heating and cooling costs from the crawl space was by using Spray Foam insulation in the crawl space. Spray Foam fills every space and void, improving air sealing. Our crews then installed TerraBlock on the floor of the crawl space for extra insulation and padding. Our CleanSpace encapsulation system was installed on top of the TerraBlock and the walls. CleanSpace prevents any moisture or water vapors from entering the crawl space. This means no new mold growth or wood rot. Now this homeowner can have peace of mind knowing that they have a dry and healthy crawl space.
