Installation of TrenchDrain Into Concrete Patio - Portland, OR
Challenge
This concrete patio had a history of repetitive standing water on the downhill side. Overtime, standing water can cause catastrophic damage to structures, so it is imperative to implement timely solutions to prevent water damage.
Solution
To equip this concrete patio with the means to safely drain away water, our expert waterproofing crew installed an XL TrenchDrain directly into the patio, on the downhill side. This drain will collect all water, and route it safely away from the home. For installation, we first cut out a 35 foot long portion of concrete. Inside of this trench, we set 35 feet of our TrenchDrain, and then poured concrete around it to firmly hold it in place. The TrenchDrain is made of heavy duty metal, and has a removeable cover for easy cleaning. The downhill slope of the drain will send all of the water through a hole we cut in the curb, and into the drain line, for easy expulsion away from the home. Now that a proper drainage system has been installed, damage by water to this patio will not occur, and these homeowners can now thoroughly enjoy their backyard private oasis without the unsightliness of dirty standing water.
