John's Waterproofing Case Studies: Falling insulation in Lyons crawlspace

Thursday, July 20th, 2017 by Kayla Cree

We came into a wet crawlspace that had a little bit of standing water in it. The vapor barrier was torn and the fiber glass insulation was completely fallen from absorbing water adding on weight.

Our crew will come in and dry out the space, remove all the fallen insulation and varies debris and install a clean space encapsulation system with a drain system, sump pump and dehumidifier, then we will come in and so a spray foam insulation on the walls. Doing this will keep out any water intrusion and moisture, help insulate the space, clean and dry the air in the crawlspace, and keep the space a constant relative humidity which prevents the growth of microorganisms and keeps energy costs down.
