In the Field, Field Trip to a Basement Job

EDUCATING OUR TEAMOn Site Arrival
ON-SITE VISIT TO SEE A TWO-STAGE DRAINAGE SYSTEM

As a team, we stress the importance of sharing knowledge about our products and services. Whether to our customers or our team, we want people to know the 'why' and 'how' about the work we do. To educate customers we provide thorough informational books and flyers, and our design specialists are available to them every step of the way, helping them learn about their homes specific water issues and needs. We also provide these educational tools to our office staff, and encourage on-site visits. This allows them to witness our installation, as well as time to ask our knowledgeable foreman questions about their work so they can see the real world applications of our systems.

We recently had a basement job that provided an in-depth look at a two-stage water drainage system. Most basements we face have our WaterGaurd system installed, this is our single stage system. Due to how this homes foundation was poured, WaterGuard cannot be properly installed. To provide drainage with a two step system we have to dig a trench out roughly twice as wide. Here we lay down a perforated pipe in a gravel bed. This is graded to the sump pump that we install. Along the homes footing, our crew then install FlowGuard to ensure water from the foundation walls can be guided to the drain system. BrightWall paneling was then installed along the walls so any moisture is sent to the drain system as well. These photos are still works- in-progress and the system will be smoothed over with concrete so the space can have a uniform floor once we are done.

Single Stage Versus Two-Stage System
Single Stage system includes the section for water to
travel to the sump pump. A Two-Stage system has to have
a separate drain as well as the FlowGuard to divert water
from the footing.
