Supporting a Local Community Center

Scotts Mills Community Center

SUPPORTING LOCAL

EMBRACING OUR COMMUNITY

Our offices are located in the quaint town of Silverton, known for its beautiful Oregon Gardens and the Silver Falls State Park. This beautiful area is home to many of our employees, and here at John's Waterproofing we embrace the small town communities we are a part of. With a handful of our employees living in the nearby town of Scotts Mills, we began to hear about their Community Center's building needs. This staple within the area was the hub for those in need during the wildfires of 2020 and the ice storm of 2021, as well as providing a safe space for kids to partake in distance learning throughout the earlier stages of Covid-19. As time marches forward, this well-used building was showing its age and needed repairs, and we were happy to swing in to support the center.

The Community Center in Scotts Mills

The center was founded in the early eighties around two simple ideas: 'lead by example; if not you, then who' and 'If you can't provide help, who could fill that need. While the center has evolved to suit the communities needs over the years, it is a well-known place for locals to pick up food donations, it is used as a meeting space for local clubs and small events, and for its successful AA program. The community's support has made this space welcoming and relied upon, and we were happy we could provide a service to help this building continue to support the town of Scotts Mills.
