Encapsulations installed by John's are sealed entirely, essentially encasing the crawl space, creating a space where the air quality is easily controlled, and moisture cannot penetrate. The entire space is waterproofed and insulated, to protect the home from the devastating effects of water damage. First, drainage and a sump pump are installed to address ground water.  Next, 2 layers of ground coverings are installed: our TerraBlock Insulation, followed by our 20 Mil CleanSpace Vapor Barrier. TerraBlock covers the entire dirt floor to insulate the ground, and creates a sturdy, walkable surface. CleanSpace is placed on top of the TerraBlock, as well as up onto the foundation walls to prevent water, moisture, and vapors from entering the space, and is interlaced with carbon fibers to provide incredible durability and a 25 year warranty against rips and tears. Our crew also seals all original crawlspace vents, and ensures that the access door seals entirely, preventing rodents and debris from being able to enter the space. The final step in crawl space Encapsulation, is the installation of Spray Foam onto the foundation walls. For this, our Spray Foam Specialist arrives, and sprays an advanced, closed-cell insulation directly onto the foundation walls, creating an air-tight seal. Spray Foam is the only type of insulation that qualifies as an air, thermal, moisture, and vapor barrier, making it the most effective, and best choice for insulating foundation walls inside of an Encapsulated crawl space.
