Next, 2 layers of ground coverings are laid down: TerraBlock insulation, with our 20 Mil CleanSpace Vapor Barrier. TerraBlock is placed directly on top of the dirt floor, to insulate the ground, and provide a sturdy surface. CleanSpace is installed on top of the TerraBlock, as well as up onto the foundation walls, to prevent water from seeping into the space. CleanSpace is interlaced with carbon fibers, making it incredibly durable, and allowing it come with a 25 year warranty against rips and tears. CleanSpace is bright and white - transforming dreary crawl spaces into clean, welcoming areas that can be safely used as dry storage - greatly increasing the useable square footage of homes. To protect the space from an unexpected plumbing leak, we installed a SmartDrain at the lowest point inside of the space. If liquid is ever detected, the SmartDrain will immediately sound an audible alarm, alerting homeowners to a leak before disastrous damage could occur to the components, or to the home. Encapsulated crawl spaces are air-tight, allowing the air quality to be easily controlled by one of our professional-grade dehumidifiers. Our Electrical Division installs a dedicated circuit for the 24/7 operation of this heavy-duty machine, which will clean and filter the air, while preventing mold growth and maintaining a safe relative humidity at all times. To seal the outside of the space, and make it impossible for rodents and debris to enter, our crew seals each vent, and we also install a specialty access door to ensure that it closes snugly, leaving no gaps along the edges. The final step is the installation of Spray Foam insulation onto the foundation walls. For this, our Spray Foam Specialist sprays this advanced, closed-cell insulation directly onto the foundation walls, until every crevice and void is filled, and a 100% air-tight seal is achieved within the space. And that's it - each individual Encapsulation component has now been installed, and the job has been completed with WOW service from our team every step of the way!
