Photo Album: Upgrading Partial Waterproofing System in Vancouver, WA
This homeowner had a simple crawl space waterproofing system installed by us a few years prior. This included a trench around the interior perimeter with a 3 inch perforated pipe in a silt sock and 6 mil black plastic. During their most recent annual service, they decided it was time to finally upgrade into an encapsulation system. We began this project by removing the old 6 mil vapor barrier previously installed and the original fiberglass insulation on the subfloor. Next we made sure to cover and seal all the vents to prevent outside elements from entering. We then install our TerraBlock system which is designed to be installed on dirt floors. This material acts as an insulated barrier, separating the home and the earth. We then lift each wooden post from the footing with a bottle jack to install some of our CleanSpace material. This prevents moisture from traveling through the porous concrete and causing damage to the wooden post. Our CleanSpace material is 20 mil thick, water and tear resistant, anti-mold and manufactured with a antimicrobial material called UltraFresh that will help prevent any musty and damp odors and deter pests and rodents. This product is then anchored into the foundation walls and placed over top of the TerraBlock and sealed with our heavy duty CleanSpace tape, completely protecting the crawl space. This will not only keep the space protected for years to come but will also brighten up the crawl space, and could even be used as extra storage space. To keep the environment controlled we also install a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier that will effectively eliminate damp odors by drying and filtering the air, all while keeping a healthy relative humidity. To complete this project, we install our foam insulation that is sprayed onto the foundation walls up to the rim joists, and this material expands filling every crack and void to ensure a complete airtight seal.

High Humidity
Healthy levels for humidity is below 50% and without a properly sealed crawl space the humidity was a bit higher

During annual maintenance our service techs make sure to flush the whole system and see its still working well
