Photo Album: Damp and Weak Posts in Harrisburg, OR
The wooden posts under the home play a very important roll for your homes health, particularly in keeping it structurally sound. This homeowner had noticed some bounce to their floors, a slope in other places, and doors that would stick in their frames. To see what was happening under the home, this homeowner contacted John's Waterproofing. Once we arrived, the design specialist dove under the home and crawled throughout the space, taking photos of what was found. In this case it was a lot of posts in poor condition. Many were damp, others had been shimmied up with other boards. There were places where extra support was added via stacked boards, and even a cement block. Overall it was some shady work. To get the home back on track we would need to replace these posts with our SmartJack. The SmartJack is an adjustable post that can replace wooden posts. We lift the home up, remove the post in poor shape and install the SmartJack. These can adjust to fit the homes needs, even adjusting over years if needed.
Long Term Water Damage
The water lines on the wooden post show where water levels often rise, staining the wood. And the wooden piece beneath the post is still very wet.
