Photo Album: Tight Crawl Space in Need of Transformation- Aurora, OR
When a crawl space is warm, damp and nasty, its the perfect environment for rodents to thrive. These homeowners were smelling foul odors coming from their crawl space and had rodent activity even in their living space. Growing tired of this, they called us and set up their free estimate. We went out to perform a thorough inspection and then met with the homeowners to create a plan of action to create a dry, healthy and stable home. We begin by removing all of the debris including the old vapor barrier and all the fiberglass insulation. Next we dig a trench around the interior perimeter of the crawlspace. In this trench we install a 3 inch perforated pipe into a silt sock, this will help secure a safe passage for the water to drain to the lowest point. At this low point we then install our SuperSump Plus that will collect all of the water and pump it outside and away from the foundation through a discharge line. We make sure all of the vents in this crawlspace are covered and sealed to prevent outside air from entering. Then, directly on the dirt floor of the crawl space we install our TerraBlock that will create an insulated barrier between the home and the earth. On top of the TerraBlock, and anchored into the foundation walls, up to the rim joists, is our 20 mil-thick-liner; CleanSpace. To keep the environment controlled we install our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. This will effectively remove damp and musty odors by drying and filtering the air, keeping the home at a healthy relative humidity. Lastly to finish this crawlspace, we install our foam insulation onto the foundation walls, up to the rim joists. This foam is sprayed as a liquid and will expand, filling every crack and void, guaranteeing an air leak free crawl space which will lower energy costs for these homeowners as well as keep out unwanted visitors.
Tight Crawl Space
Nasty tight crawl spaces attract pests and rodents.
CleanSpace Encapsulation
Our vibrant 20 mil thick white liner will provide a clean, finished look and help the homeowner see the crawlspace is free of debris dirt and rodents.
Spray foam insulation
The project is now complete after the finishing touch of our foam insulation. This is sprayed directly onto the foundation walls and expands making sure to fill every crack, guaranteeing an airtight seal.
