Repairing Cracked Foundation Wall Corner - The Dalles, OR
Challenge
The concrete foundation of this home in The Dalles, Oregon, had many vertical cracks throughout the entirety of the walls. The most dangerous crack, was in one of the corners. These numerous and severe cracks had caused additional cracks to form in several walls and ceiling areas inside of the home as well. When the foundation of a home is cracked, the affects are commonly seen inside of the home. This is because the weight of the home is no longer being adequately and evenly supported. Over time, cracked foundations can cause catastrophic structural failure to homes. A crack on the corner of a foundation wall is especially dangerous because corners are at a higher risk of separating and caving in after crack formation.
Solution
To prevent further structural damage to this home, it was imperative that the cracks in the foundation were professionally repaired. Our crew of Structural Repair Experts arrived at the home, and began repairing the cracks in the foundation. First, they injected each crack with our Crack Epoxy Injection Material, to bond and seal all of the jagged edges back together. Next, they horizontally attached several strands of Carbon Fiber Stitching across each crack to firmly hold them together, and prevent them from worsening. Carbon Fiber Stitching is 10 times stronger than steel, and is highly effective at restoring strength and integrity to foundations. With high attention to detail, and many years of structural repair experience, our crew ensured that each crack was expertly repaired, maximizing the effectiveness of the Injection Material and the Carbon Fiber Stitching. Each individual crack was addressed and repaired with thorough attentiveness. The foundation of this home is once again intact and strong, and will properly support the weight of the home - protecting the safety of the family within for many years to come.
