Foundation Repair Photo Album: Placement and Finishing of Concrete Sidewalk - Portland, OR
These business owners were in need of a concrete sidewalk on the side entrance to their building. After searching the internet for local concrete experts, they saw that John's came highly recommended with 5 star reviews from many previous customers. Pleased with these high ratings, they called us to come out. Our Design Specialist arrived, looked at the area, took measurements, and informed the business owners that John's could start and finish this project very quickly. The business owners were happy to hear this, as winter was quickly approaching, and they wanted the sidewalk in place before then. They signed our Job Proposal, and we began work in a timely manner. Due to rain in the forecast, we prepared ahead of time and made sure we brought the needed materials to protect the new slab from the weather. When our concrete crew arrived, we built the wooden concrete forms, laid down concrete dobies for added support, and placed rebar. Next, we poured the concrete into the forms, and gave it a nice broom finish! After finishing, we built a rain cover out of PVC pipes, and plastic tarping, to protect the newly finished slab from the rain. We made sure it was tightly sealed, so no rainwater could get in and damage the new sidewalk. After the rain stopped, we removed the cover. This sidewalk is now complete with a beautiful broom finish to boot, and will help keep the floors of this business clean throughout the rainy seasons of the PNW for many, many years to come!
