Foundation Repair Photo Album: Settling Foundation Causing Separation of Wall and Ceiling - Hood River, OR
The foundation of this home had settled on the left side so severely that the interior walls had separated from the ceiling. The homeowner had heard that John's provides high quality structural repairs, so he called on us to help! Our Design Specialist arrived, thoroughly inspected the foundation, and then presented the homeowner with an immediately effective, as well as permanent solution. He proposed installing 8 Steel Push Piers, to lift the foundation of the home, preventing it from settling again. The homeowner was pleased with this job proposal, and gave us permission to begin the job. When our structural crew arrived, we first dug out a portion of dirt around the left foundation wall, to make room for installation of the Piers. To install the Piers, we bolted 8 Steel Brackets directly onto the concrete foundation wall, and then hydraulically drove the metal piers through each of the Brackets, deep into the earth until we reached highly supportive soil. Once the Piers reached the weight bearing stratum, we drove them even further downward, until the foundation was lifted back to its appropriate height. After installation, we refilled the area we dug out, leaving no mess behind. Push Piers remain in place forever, and offer effective prevention against future settling. Before our work, the structural integrity of this home was in grave danger, but thanks to our crew of experts, the stability and safety of this home has been rightfully restored for the family within! Upon completion of this job, the homeowner told us that he was satisfied with the quality of the work completed, and also mentioned that the crew cleaned up nicely afterwards. Additionally, he noted that there were several large rocks in the soil where they installed the Piers, and he was impressed that the crew handled that challenge with ease. Another glowing review of our Structural Experts here at John's!
