Foundation Repair Photo Album: Installing Helical Piers in Neskowin, OR
As a foundation shifts in a home, it begins to cause problems such as sticking doors and windows, uneven floors and cracks in the walls. Those cracks then allow moisture to enter and cause further damage. This homes foundation began to cause these exact issues and the homeowners were worried that the problems would become worse overtime if not addressed properly. They wanted to find a permanent solution that will give them safety and stability for years to come. These homeowners decided to call us and schedule their free visit. We sent out one of our knowledgeable system design specialist to thoroughly inspect this homes foundation from the inside and out. After gathering the information, our system design specialist met with the homeowner and went over the best options to that would properly address these issues. The homeowners were ready to begin so they moved forward with the estimate and we scheduled the project.
For this home, we used our Helical Piers to address the foundation cracks and ensure the home is secure and stable. First, we remove the soil where the piers will be installed. Next, we prepare the footing of the homes foundation to make sure the piers can be properly placed. Then, once the piers are in place we attach the drive motor and start it in a clockwise rotation and add extensions, drilling this down until we reach the load-bearing strata. Once it has reached the desired torque for all piers, we remove the drive motor and attach all the brackets to the footing. We than install and tighten the rods and nuts ensuring everything is secure. Following this, we move on to lifting the home with our lift assembly. We connect all the hoses to our 6-way manifold and make sure it is at the accurate and safe pressure, then we begin to lift at the lowest point. After we reach the desired lift, we open the valves on the manifold to release the pressure and remove the lift assembly. Now that all of the piers are completed and the home is lifted back into a secure and stable place, we replace the soil and check all of the doors and windows to ensure they are now sitting properly in their frames. Our waterproofing crew then came in and installed a full encapsulation. Now that this home is secure and stable, these homeowners can now have peace of mind.
