Foundation Repair Photo Album: Prevent Home Settlement - Salem, OR
This homeowner discovered that their home was beginning to settle and this caused uneven floors. In certain spots of the living spaces, the floors were bouncy and the furniture was starting to tilt in the direction where the settlement was occurring. Due to the home being built in the 1940s, it is not uncommon for settlement to happen because the soil under the home compresses and rain causes excess water to soften the dirt. Worried about their home, they reached out to John's Waterproofing about our foundation repair solutions. We recommended that installing 5 Push Piers would be able to offer a permanent solution to their settling foundation and keep the home stabilized. These steel piers are hydraulically driven into the ground through a patented steel bracket to a load bearing stratum. The purpose of this is to prevent future home settlement and use the steel tubes to be driven deep down into the soil for added support. The process of this includes excavating the soil, prepping the footing, mount the brackets, and then drive the piers through the soil. Once the piers are in, then the tubes are pressurized to lift the house. After these 5 Push Piers are installed, the home is able to be stabilized and supported without the fear of future settlement.
Step 1: Excavate the Soil.
A trench is dug along the homes foundation as a place for the pier brackets to be mounted to. This is where the home will be lifted from.
Hydraulically Driven into Ground.
The steel tubes are hydraulically driven into the soil to reach a certain depth and pressure.
Mounted Brackets Prepping for Lift.
Once the steel tubes are driven into the ground, we prepare the foundation to be lifted by mounting the brackets and using pressure.
Completed Foundation Repair.
Once the home is lifted, the brackets are removed and the steel tubes get completely covered with dirt. This offers homeowners a discreet foundation repair system that will restabilize the home and prevent settling.
