This homeowner had some concerns with their crawl space, so they called us to schedule a free estimate and inspection. We sent out one of our knowledgeable system design specialists, and after the inspection, he met with the homeowner to address their concerns and come up with the right game plan for this crawl space. To begin this project, we remove all the debris, along with the old vapor barrier. Next, we dig a trench around the interior perimeter, to then lay down a perforated pipe into a silt sock to secure a safe passage for the water to drain to the SuperSump at the lowest point. Next, we install our TerraBlock insulation that goes directly on top of the crawl space floor, creating a barrier between the home and the earth. On top of the TerraBlock, we install our CleanSpace system. This goes all along the foundation walls, up to the rim joists and is sealed at the footing of the wooden posts with our waterproof tape. We also make sure to cover all the vents in this process. To make sure the environment is controlled, we install our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. This will eliminate damp, musty odors by drying and filtering the air and will also keep the home at a healthy relative humidity. Lastly, we install our spray foam insulation. This is sprayed all along the foundation walls, up to the rim joists, filling every crack and void, ensuring a complete airtight seal. This crawl space is now dry, healthy and fully protected for years to come.
The customer called because they had an unfinished portion of their basement that constantly had moisture. Constant moisture under your house can cause numerous problems. Such as mold growth, rotting posts, and musty smells that spread to the house. Our crews installed our CleanSpace vapor barrier that is 20 mils thick and seals the space. The customer was so happy because now they could use this part of the basement for storage.
This home had a WaterGuard Drainage system installed a few years back, and while the water and moisture were addressed, the old water stains on the walls were still there. To get a semi-finished look in the basement, the homeowners had us install BrightWall panels along the walls. These will not mold or mildew, and are easy to clean while also brightening the space.
This homes basement had been finished, but water was leaking through the walls. Along the floor a dampness was felt, and this was discovered on the lowest sections of the drywall as well. The homeowners pulled off a section of the drywall and discovered the fiberglass in the walls had some mildew growing. It was holding onto that moisture and just slowly leaking down. To address this issue we went in and removed the rest of the drywall and fiberglass insulation. We then installed a full interior perimeter waterproofing system with a sump pump to collect water and send it away from the home. On the walls we installed our ThermalDry radiant vapor barrier. This will provide a thermal break as well as act as a vapor barrier to safely guide the moisture from the wall down to the new drain system. We then refinished the walls. Now the space is usable once again and protected against water damage.
This customer had found some flooding in their basement that caused water damage to the semi-finished bonus room. Our crew installed a SaniDry XP and ThermalDry dark walnut flooring for a beautiful finished basement floor.
