Purus Concrete Basement Flooring; Portland, OR

This homeowner decided it was time to remodel his basement and make it into an additional living room. Our crew installed our ThermalDry Elite basement flooring. It is made specifically for the basement using inorganic materials so that it can't get water or mold damage. It is also insulated and helps keep the floor warmer, which is important in the basement. The homeowner could not believe the difference it made going from concreate flooring to wood flooring.

Proper Insulation for Crawlspace and Entryway - Portland, OR

This homes basement was often cold and drafty. They homeowners had insulated three of the walls in the space, but the fourth side was against a crawlspace. In an attempt to save on energy bills, they had tacked a blanket against the interior entryway to the crawlspace. This didn't make any noticeable difference and called up John's Waterproofing. We laid down TerraBlock insulation over the dirt floor, secured CleanSpace vapor barrier throughout the space and spray foam along the walls. This made the room much more comfortable and the homeowners were thrilled to call us back to let us know their bills have gone down.

Water Seeping in through Basement Windows - Portland, OR

When John's Waterproofing does an inspection for a basement waterproofing system, we want to ensure we check every aspect of the basement for possible water entry. While installing a drainage system and wall systems are important, we want to address all of the basement and that starts with checking the basement windows. These below grade windows are prime spots for water intrusion issues because the soil around the home is loose and water can easily pass through to the foundation and windows. If there's no form of protection against that loose soil, water will build up and need somewhere to go. This tends to be through the cracks and crevices around the windows. To make sure that water can't gain access into the basement, we install Window Wells and drainage. A Window Well is the barrier that goes outside around the below grade windows. It is lined with gravel and surrounds the entirety of the window to ensure water won't end up pushing against the window frame. The U-shape of the Window Well will also allow for light to reach the basement and add comfortability. We also install a drain system which collects the rainwater that goes into the window well, this will guide water collected here to can safely pass through the foundation and be guided to the waterproofing system we installed inside the basement. After the below-grade windows have been addressed, this basement can rest assured their basement is waterproofed on all fronts.
