This home had rotting wooden posts in their Crawlspace. The above home smelled damp and the floor was warping in response to the water damage. To stop this we installed six SmartJacks to provide stability to the home and we then added a pipe drainage system, a TripleSafe sump pump, and a 6 Mil vapor barrier.
This home was getting a make over. From the nasty crawlspace up, the home had some work to be done. One big piece of this for the owners, was updating the exterior. Their old exterior entryway was nasty and the wood was squishy where it was rotting. We updated this space and used an EverLast door to ensure the new encapsulated space would stay dry and healthy.
This crawlspace in Hammond, Oregon was full of water and falling insulation which caused cold drafts throughout the whole house. Our crews came in and installed our CleanSpace system and transformed this homeowners space
The homeowners just had their vapor barrier replaced by another company, however, their old insulation was never addressed. They had hoped changing the barrier would eliminate the moldy smell under their home, however, it didn't. The mold was festering under the old insulation. To help we removed all of the old insulation, brought in a mold remediation company, and then fully encased the crawlspace.
When the crawl space is in disrepair, than the air that moves up into the home will carry all that yuck, up into the home. From falling fiberglass and caked on mud, this crawl space was a mess. Since their living spaces smelled damp and musty, they figured they should fix the problem at the source. To ensure their home will be protected, they contacted John's Waterproofing and asked about getting a long-term solution in place. To do this we suggested a full encapsulation. This system includes a full interior drain system and a TripleSafe sump pump. We than insulate the dirt floor with TerraBlock and all vents are sealed shut. CleanSpace is than wrapped throughout, sealing the space off and a SaniDry is installed to maintain a healthy relative humidity. Spray insulation is than applied to the foundation walls to complete the job. Now the space is dry, stable, and healthy and the owners are happy to report their air smells fresher already.
