This home had fiberglass installed in the crawl space. Knowing that is was meant to be sealed in, the installers had attached a material to help hold it in place. However, moisture was still getting in. And critters got in, pulling out batches of the fiberglass and making a general mess in this space. To get the crawl space properly insulated, we put in a full encapsulation.
This homes crawl space had been stripped bare. No vapor barrier and now insulation. But the humidity levels were causing some issues, and the owners contacted John's Waterproofing about solutions. We sent out a design specialist who did a full crawl under the home and than began discussing options. After going over the differences between the standard fiberglass insulation and our encapsulation, which uses insulation made for the crawl space, the owners were eager to do the long term solution and have their space encapsulated. We installed a full interior drain system with a sump pump. We than laid down DrainMatt, TerraBlock insulation, and CleanSpace. The Walls were insulated and air sealed with spray foam, and we completed the job by installing a SaniDry dehumidifier. Now the space is set up to be properly insulated and remain dry and healthy.
Moisture can cause a lot of damage to the home, especially if left unattended for years, This home would need to be treated for mold, and than we were able to come in to waterproof so we could keep the space dry and healthy. To care for the home, we installed a full encapsulation. This system involves a full interior perimeter drain system, with a TripleSafe sump pump. We also insulate the space using methods that are made to last and fit into the crawl space. This involves TerraBlock along the dirt floor, paired with Spray Foam insulation along the foundation walls and into the rim joists. We also seal the vents shut so we can control the space. CleanSpace is wrapped throughout the crawl space, allowing us to than control the environment under the home with a SaniDry dehumidifier. With control over the moisture content, we can make it so mold and mildew will not find a way back under the home, and it can truly remain dry and healthy over the years.
