Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Transforming a Crawl Space in Sherwood, OR
This homes crawl space had high humidity, rodents and signs of water. These problems were causing strong odors and these homeowners wanted to find a solution, so they reached out to us to schedule their free visit. We went out and thoroughly inspected their crawls space and then met with the homeowners to create the best game plan to permanently create a dry, healthy and stable home. We begin this project by removing all of the debris, fiberglass insulation, and old vapor barrier. We then dig a trench around the interior perimeter of the crawl space in which we place a 3 inch perforated pipe into a silt sock to secure a safe passage for water to drain to the lowest point of the crawl space. At this point we then install our SuperSump pump which will collect all of the water that enters and pump it outside and away from the foundation through a discharge line. We make sure to cover and seal all of the vents to prevent outside air from entering. Next, we install TerraBlock onto the dirt floor. This will not only separate the home from the earth with an insulated barrier, but will help in blocking out any moisture. Our 20 Mil thick liner, CleanSpace is next. This is placed between the footing and the wooden posts- on top of the TerraBlock, and is also anchored into the foundation walls up to the rim joists. It is then sealed with our waterproof tape at the footing of the wooden posts. To keep the environment controlled, we install our SaniDry Sedona. This effective dehumidifier will eliminate damp and musty odors by drying and filtering the air, as well as keep the home at a healthy relative humidity. To finish this project we install our foam insulation. This is sprayed directly onto the foundation walls, up to the rim joists, filling every crack and void, guaranteeing a complete airtight seal. Now that this crawl space is fully encapsulated, these homeowners can be sure that their home will be protected against water, musty odors and rodents.
