Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Installing an Encapsulation System in Bend, OR

These homeowners wanted to upgrade their crawl space to get rid of the musty odor that was coming into their home. They called us up and scheduled their free visit and we went out and thoroughly inspected their crawl space. We then met with the homeowners and discussed the best options to create a healthy, dry and stable environment. After going over the benefits of a full encapsulation, they wanted to move forward with the estimate and scheduled their project date. First, we begin by removing any debris, fiberglass insulation and old vapor barrier. Next, we dug a trench around the interior perimeter of the crawl space in which we install a 3 inch perforated pipe into a silt sock, creating a secure passage for water to drain to the lowest point. Then, at this low point we install our TripleSafe system. We make sure to cover and seal the vents to ensure no outside air enters. To block any moisture from making its way up through the crawl space floor, we install our TerraBlock system which is 3/4th inch of foam with a vapor barrier designed to be installed on the dirt floor. On top of the TerraBlock, we install our CleanSpace system, which is a 20 mil thick liner that will not only protect, but will also help brighten the space with its white finish. This is sealed at the foundation walls and beneath the wooden posts with our heavy duty CleanSpace tape. To keep the environment controlled we then install our SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier that will eliminate damp and musty odors by drying and filtering the air, as well as keep the home at a healthy relative humidity. Lastly, to finish, we anchor our SilverGlo wall insulation system into the foundation walls, up to the rim joists and use spray foam to seal any areas around it.
