Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Crawl Space Tune-Up For New Homeowner - Blaine, WA
Before finalizing the purchase of their new home, this family was told that the crawl space would need a bit of tuning up before moving in. With this in mind, the family reached out to John's, and asked if we could repair the crawl space quickly, so that there would be no long-term delay in moving into the home. We reassured the homeowner that we have crews set aside just for this reason! We call them our Real Estate Response Teams, and their schedules are carefully maintained to ensure that these types of urgent real estate matters are swiftly taken care of for our customers. This was music to the ears of this family, and we quickly sent out our Design Specialist to take a look. The family informed him that their budget was small - to which he respectfully understood, and assured them that John's offers affordable ways for families to safely waterproof their crawl spaces. After his thorough inspection, he verified the need for a tune-up, and presented the new homeowners with his suggested solution - our Pipe, Pump, Plastic waterproofing system. He explained that this system is budget-friendly, and the crews at John's have been installing it for over 50 years.
Upon arrival, our crew removed all of the old, wet, and dirty debris from the crawl space, leaving a nice clean area beneath the home. Next, they dug a shallow trench around the full interior perimeter of the space, to hold our 3" Perforated Piping. This Piping will collect all water intrusion, and route it to a SuperSump Pump. This heavy-duty Pump runs continuously, to save homeowners time while offering peace of mind. When water reaches the Pump, it will be expelled away from the home via an underground discharge line. At the end of the discharge line, our crew attached a LawnScape Outlet, to evenly disperse the water into the lawn. The final step in installing this system, is laying down our 6 Mil Black Plastic Vapor Barrier, to prevent moisture from seeping in through the ground and walls. This component covers the entire dirt floor inside of the space, as well as the foundation walls. These homeowners can now rest assured that the health of their loved ones will be protected, and their crawl space will remain dry, healthy, and stable for many years to come.

Standing Water Beneath Vapor Barrier
Standing water under your vapor barrier is a serious problem, and when left to fester, indicates imminent damage to the structural components beneath your home, as well as an unsafe, damp air quality.
