Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Installing a Full Encapsulation System in Portland, OR
This homeowner had been looking into several different solutions to upgrade their crawl space but were worried that they were not going to solve the issues with odors, rodents, pests and high levels of humidity. So they reached out to us and scheduled their free visit. We went out and carefully inspected their crawl space and made sure to create an estimate that addressed all of the issues that were found. After the inspection we met with the homeowner and went over the game plan to help create a dry, healthy, and stable crawl space that will give them peace of mind.
We begin the project by removing all of the debris, remaining fiberglass insulation and ground cover. Since there was not much water in this crawl space we installed our SmartDrain system which will alert the homeowner of a possible plumbing leak with an audible alarm and drain it to a drywell underneath the CleanSpace system. Next, we make sure to cover and seal all of the vents to ensure no outside air enters. Then we install our TerraBlock system over top of the dirt floor, creating an insulated barrier between the home and the earth that will block any moisture from making its way up. On top of the TerraBlock system, we install our CleanSpace, which is a 20 mil thick liner that also gets placed between each footing and wooden post as well as anchored into the foundation walls. This system is then sealed with our heavy duty waterproof CleanSpace tape. The old exterior entryway was rotting, so we replaced it with our EverLast door. Than to control the environment we install our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier that will eliminate damp and musty smells by drying and filtering the air while keeping the home at a healthy relative humidity. Lastly we finish this project by anchoring our SilverGlo system into the foundation walls, up to the rim joist which will provide insulation for this crawl space. Now that this crawl space is finished, this homeowner no longer has to worry and can be sure that this solution is permanent.
