One of our professional Design Specialists was scheduled to perform a thorough inspection, and recommend effective solutions. One of the most common ways to tune-up your crawl space, is to have it waterproofed using our tried and true, budget-friendly, Pipe, Pump, and Plastic Waterproofing System. When our crews arrive on the day of installation, they begin by removing all of the old and nasty debris from the space. When doing this, the air quality is so toxic, that are crews are required to wear custom fit respirators for protection - that is truly how dangerous the air can be inside of neglected crawl spaces. Once all of the debris is removed, our crew digs a shallow trench along the full interior perimeter of the space, to hold our 3" Perforated Piping. This Piping will collect all water intrusion from the space, and route it to the lowest point, where our SuperSump Pump is installed. Once water reaches the Pump, it will be expelled safely away from the home via an underground discharge line. To ensure operation of the Pump, our Electrical Division arrives to install a dedicated circuit for the machine. Next, we lay down our 6 Mil Black Plastic Vapor Barrier, covering the entire dirt floor, as well as the Perforated Piping. This ground covering prevents moisture from seeping in through the ground, helping to keep the crawl space dry. Here at John's, we also offer more advanced waterproofing systems, should this homeowner choose to upgrade in a few years, their piping and pump system are already in place, making it an easier upgrade.
