The first step was to clean out all of the dirty debris inside of the crawl space, leaving a nice clean area. The installation of a vapor barrier protects the structural components beneath the home, as well as helping to maintain safe air quality both beneath of, and inside of the home. To reinforce the subfloor, our crew removed and replaced the failing posts with Steel SmartJacks. These heavy-duty posts are "jacked up", until the overhead floor is once again level, and they will remain in place to support the subfloor and ensure even distribution of weight of the homes frame. SmartJacks offer far superior structural stability and longevity compared to traditional wooden piers. Following this, we went to the exterior of the home to address the downspouts, that had been releasing rain water right beside the crawl space. To ensure that rain water intrusion into the crawl space would not be an issue, our crew tied the existing gutter downspout into an underground Rain Drain Line, to carry all collected rain water far away from the home, and expel it into the yard. At the end of the Rain Drain Line, we attached a LawnScape Outlet, which will evenly disperse the collected water, rather than create a large puddle. The crawl space of this home is now clean, waterproofed, and reinforced, giving this family peace of mind, and leaving them with a stable, healthy environment that they can enjoy without worry for years to come.
