Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Transforming a Nasty Crawl Space in Longview, WA

These homeowners felt like there was a musty odor entering their home, and during the rainy season the level of humidity felt higher than normal. For years they tried different solutions, but none of them permanent. One day, they decided to take a look in their crawl space and immediately knew that was the main culprit. Looking at all of the fallen fiberglass insulation, dirt and debris they wanted to transform it completely. They gave us a call and scheduled their free visit. One of our system design specialists went out to thoroughly assess this crawl space and gathered information to then speak with the homeowners and work with them in creating a solution that will effectively transform their crawl space. We begin this project by removing all of the debris, fiberglass insulation and old vapor barrier. They did not have much water intrusion so we installed a SmartDrain system that will alert them of a possible plumbing leak with an audible alarm and will drain it into a drywell underneath the crawl space. Next we install our TerraBlock insulation that is designed to be installed onto the dirt floor. Our 20 mil thick liner is then installed and sealed overtop. This is our CleanSpace system that is placed directly on top of the TerraBlock and will be sealed with our heavy duty CleanSpace tape. Following this, our dehumidifier is installed, which will address all the musty odor by drying and filtering the air all while keeping the space at a healthy relative humidity. Lastly, we finish this project by installing our SilverGlo wall system into the foundation walls to properly insulate this crawl space and raise the R value. Now that this crawl space is encapsulated, these homeowners can see and feel the complete transformation.
