Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Full Crawl Space Revamp - Clinton, WA
The floors bounced with every step, and a musty odor wafted throughout the home. This home was on the verge of meeting its demise. John's Waterproofing received a call from homeowners who were in desperate need of a solution. Luckily for them, that's exactly what we do: provide reliable, timely, permanent solutions. We sent one of our design specialists out for a free inspection and quickly discovered several issues beneath the home. A section of the subfloor was sinking due to a lack of support beams. Dirt and standing water covered the torn vapor barrier, while a faulty exterior entrance allowed groundwater, outside air, and debris into the crawl space. It wouldn't have been long before rodents, mold, and even more structural damage took over.
Our waterproofing team got to work by removing the old vapor barrier and debris in the way before installing a Perf Pipe drainage system with a sump pump to collect groundwater and remove it from around the home. We stabilized the home with a new steel support beam and five SmartJacks. We then insulated the space with SilverGlo insulation panels along the foundation walls, and TerraBlock over the dirt floor. Overtop, we install CleanSpace, which is a 20 Mil vapor barrier with a woven fiber through it. This seals the crawl space. To keep the space dry permanently, we installed a TripleSafe sump pump and a SaniDry Sedona humidifier before replacing the failing crawl space entrance with a Turtl Crawl Space Entry System. The crawl space is now clean, dry, and built to last.
Musty Crawl Space
We removed the old, raggedy vapor barrier and all debris, including the falling insulation, dirt, and standing water.
Crawl Space Encapsulation
TerraBlock insulation and CleanSpace vapor barrier completely sealed off the crawl space, blocking out moisture and creating a more comfortable and consistent temperature in the home.
Old Exterior Entry
Worn-down and non-effective crawl space entryway, allowing groundwater, debris, and air to get trapped underneath the home.
Turtl Crawl Space Entry Door
Durable entryway that blocks moisture, dirt, rodents, and outside air from penetrating the crawl space
SmartJacks and Steel Beam
We installed 5 SmartJacks and a brand-new steel beam to permanently support the home's sagging floors.
SilverGlo Wall
SilverGlo panels were installed along foundation walls to reflect heat back into the crawl space and prevent water seepage
