Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Crawl Space Transformation in Tualatin, OR

Crawl spaces are easily one of the most neglected areas in a home due to it being out of direct sight. This tends to cause problems that are invisible to homeowners until it becomes something that cannot be ignored. This home had bouncy floors in some areas, damp and musty odors and recently the owners had noticed rodent activity. Knowing that they wanted a permanent solution, they reached out to us and set their free visit. After going out and thoroughly inspecting this homes crawl space and meeting with the homeowner to discuss the game plan, we began the project. First, we remove all of the debris and vapor barrier. Then, we addressed the wooden posts that were no longer offering stable support, causing those bouncy and unstable floors in the living area. We installed our SmartJack system to replace the posts. These are our high capacity adjustable supplemental steel piers designed to stop settling and raise the floor back up. Next, we dug a trench around the interior perimeter of the crawl space and in it we place a 3 inch perforated pipe into a silt sock creating a secure passage for water to be directed to the lowest point. At the low point we install our SuperSump Plus which will collect all of the water and pump it outside of the home through a discharge line. Following which we installed our TerraBlock system directly on the dirt floor as ground insulation. On top of the TerraBlock we place our 20 mil thick liner, CleanSpace and seal it with our heavy duty CleanSpace tape. Not only will this brighten up the crawl space but it will keep it protected against water, rodents, and mold and mildew growth. Then, to keep the environment controlled we install our effective dehumidifier SaniDry Sedona. This effectively eliminates damp and musty odors by drying and filtering the air all while keeping the home at a healthy relative humidity. Lastly along the foundation walls we anchor in our SilverGlo for insulation. Now that this crawl space is protected, these homeowners no longer need to worry about their bouncy floors or unpleasant odors.
