Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Out with the Old, In with the New - Forest Grove, OR

Down below a home in Forest Grove, something terrible was brewing. Exterior vents and an open crawl space entryway were allowing unwanted air and moisture inside. As humidity levels rose, the crawl space became the ideal environment for mold, rot, and other problems. When John's Waterproofing arrived, they knew exactly what to do: seal the crawl space off from the outside world. First, the drooping fiberglass insulation, debris, and old vapor barrier were removed to prepare the crawl space for its transformation. Since the home wasn't experiencing significant water intrusion, a Smart Drain was installed to help collect any water should a plumbing leak occur. Next, the crawl space was sealed up with heavy-duty vent covers to keep the outside air and moisture from entering through the vents. An EverLast door was also installed over the open crawl space entry, helping keep rodents, air, and moisture out while still allowing for easy access when needed. TerraBlock and CleanSpace were then anchored across the dirt floor to provide a durable barrier against moisture. SilverGlo wall panels were placed along the foundation to help insulate the crawl space, reflect heat back into the space, and create more consistent temperatures throughout the home. Finally, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was placed to control excess humidity and help prevent those unwanted conditions for mold and mildew. This Forest Grove home was given a healthier and more comfortable space beneath it, protected from moisture, and sealed for good.
