Homeowners called John's Waterproofing when they saw an ad online for a free inspection. Having never looked down in their crawl space, the homeowners thought it was a good preventive measure for their home's longevity. We sent a Design Specialist out, and what they saw was not-so-great. Standing water filled the crawl space, along with mud and scattered fiberglass insulation. Exterior vents and the crawl space access door were letting outside air, rodents, water, and pests in. Our team discussed their findings with the homeowners, and decided on a plan that would protect their home for years to come. They didn't want a quick solution; they wanted a permanent one. So, the encapsulation project was scheduled. During the project, our waterproofing experts removed all debris from the crawl space and installed a Perf Pipe along the interior perimeter to redirect excess water. A TripleSafe sump pump was installed to handle the collected water, while heavy-duty vent covers and an EverLast door sealed off the foundation from the outdoors. Next, TerraBlock insulation and CleanSpace vapor barrier were anchored across the dirt floor. SilverGlo wall panels were attached along the foundation to keep moisture out and radiate heat back into the crawl space. Finally, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was added to maintain consistent humidity levels and get rid of excess moisture from the air.

TerraBlock is installed underneath to provide an extra layer of insulation between the crawl space and cold, damp ground. SilverGlo wall, graphite-impregnated insulation, radiates heat back into the space while directing groundwater behind the panels and down to the Perf Pipe.

The SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier is bite-sized and perfect for a crawl space. It automatically maintains the relative humidity at 55%, removing excess moisture from the air and expelling it out of the crawl space.
