Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Addressing Water in the Crawl Space in Oregon City, OR
This crawl space was not properly protected and water kept entering and with no where to go, it remained stagnant, causing musty smells to enter the living areas and the humidity levels to rise. These homeowners knew that ignoring this issue would cause further issues if not addressed by someone they can trust, so they reached out to us and scheduled their free estimate and inspection. We went out and thoroughly inspected the crawl space then met with the homeowners to discuss all of the findings and create a plan that will permanently address these problems.
First, due to the water intrusion in this crawl space, there was some mold growth and we addressed that by using out soda blasting machine which removes the mold by using a high pressure machine that removes the mold with our non toxic and organic baking soda. Next, we remove all of the debris and old vapor barrier and dig a trench around the interior perimeter of the crawl space. In this trench we install a 3 inch perforated pipe into a silt sock to create a secure passage for water to drain to the lowest point. At the low point we install our TripleSafe sump system that collects the water that enters and pumps it outside of the house through a discharge line. We make sure that all of the vents in this crawl space are sealed shut to prevent outside air from entering. Then, on the dirt floor we install our TerraBlock system that acts as an insulated barrier between the home and the earth. On top of the TerraBlock and along the foundation walls we install our CleanSpace system which is a 20 mil thick, tear resistant vapor barrier that will keep the space protected. To keep the environment controlled we install our SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier that will eliminate damp and musty odors by drying and filtering the air and keep the home at a healthy relative humidity. Finally to finish this project we install our insulation which is sprayed onto the foundation walls and expands making sure to fill every crack and void. Now that this crawl space is fully encapsulated, these homeowners no longer have to worry about water entering and causing issues.
