Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Hidden Home Finally Protected - Granite Falls, WA
Tucked away in the forest, this beautiful Granite Falls home was suffering from water intrusion and inconsistent temperatures. When a call came in to John's Waterproofing from the homeowners, desperate for a solution, we quickly sent out our team to uncover the mystery below. During the free crawl space inspection, our Design Specialist noted exterior vents, an open crawl space entry door, a torn vapor barrier, an abundance of debris, and signs of water. After discussing these findings with the homeowners, a plan was made and set in motion.
The first step was to remove all of the ole vapor barrier and fiberglass insulation. Next, a Perf Pipe was installed in a trench along the interior perimeter of the crawl space to collect and redirect water. Heavy-duty vent covers and an EverLast crawl space door were added to seal out the outside air and moisture. Next came the ultimate encapsulation duo - TerraBlock insulation and CleanSpace vapor barrier - to insulate the floor and lock out ground moisture. A TripleSafe sump pump was installed at the lowest point of the crawl space to efficiently discharge any water collected by the Perf Pipe, providing powerful protection. To complete the seal-off, SilverGlo wall panels were attached along the foundation to reflect heat back into the space and improve the home's overall energy efficiency. With the encapsulation complete, the homeowners now have a cleaner, drier, and more comfortable crawl space protected from temperature fluctuations and moisture.
Dirty Crawl Space
A torn vapor barrier, old insulation, dirt, and debris allowed moisture to build up beneath the home, creating damp conditions and an unhealthy crawl space environment.
Exposed Dirt Floor
An uncovered dirt floor allows ground moisture to rise into the crawl space, increasing humidity and building the perfect environment for mold, mildew, and musty odors.
Crawl Space Encapsulation
A complete encapsulation seals the crawl space from moisture, outside air, pests, and debris. This allows for a fresh look and drier space, while helping improve energy efficiency, indoor air quality, and the health of the home.
SilverGlo Wall
Graphite-impregnated insulation panels designed to reflect heat back into the crawl space while helping reduce heat loss through foundation walls. They also provide additional moisture resistance.
TripleSafe Sump Pump
Three pumps work together to provide ultimate protection against water intrusion. Two powerful pumps handle everyday water removal, while a battery-powered backup pump keeps the system running even during a power outage.
