Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: The Under Home Bog - Kalama, WA
Down under a home in Kalama, water was flooding, mud was piling up, and the condition of the crawl space was quickly declining. It was only a matter of time before it turned into a swampy bog. The homeowners teamed up with John's Waterproofing to create a solution that tackled the water issues while staying within their budget.
The project began with the removal of all mud, standing water, and the filthy, failing vapor barrier. Once they made a clean slate to work with, a trench was dug along the interior perimeter of the crawl space, and a Perf Pipe wrapped in a silt sock was inserted to catch and redirect water to the sump pump. A SuperSump Plus was then installed to efficiently pump excess water out and away from the home. To finish the project, a fresh 6-mil vapor barrier was laid across the dirt floor to prevent ground moisture from rising into the crawl space. With a new drainage system in place, the homeowners are set with reliable protection against water intrusion until they decide to take the next step with a full crawl space encapsulation.
Musty Crawl Space
A torn vapor barrier, exposed dirt, and uncovered wood posts created the perfect conditions for moisture buildup, wood rot, and mold growth. The crawl space was left vulnerable for years and was severely damaged.
Standing Water and Mud
Excess water and thick mud had taken over the crawl space, creating a damp, unhealthy environment and putting the home at risk.
Old Sump Pump
This outdated, low-quality sump pump was no longer providing protection, leaving the crawl space vulnerable to severe water buildup and damage.
SuperSump Plus
A strong sump pump system that is designed to remove water from the crawl space and protect the home from flooding. Installed at the lowest point, it provides reliable water defense.
New 6-Mil Vapor Barrier
A durable vapor barrier was installed over the crawl space dirt floor to help block moisture from rising out of the ground. It makes a cleaner and drier environment and is an extra layer of protection against moisture damage and mold growth.
