The crawl space had puddles of water, a torn vapor barrier, and dirt piling up and was in need of a repair. John's Waterproofing's Design Specialist inspected the entire crawl space and the homeowners only concern was the project not being in their budget. Together, they adjusted their ideas and made a budget friendly plan to solve all current issues. The crew removed all old debris and anything else in their way to make the changes and began the pipe, pump, plastic process. Starting with installing a 3 inch perf pipe along the perimeter that collects all water and flows to the lowest point in the area. This is where the SuperSump will be installed. The SuperSump is a sump pump that takes all collected water and pumps it out of the house through an attached discharge line. The water will exit through a LawnScape outlet, a safe distance away on your property. Next, we line the floor with a 6 Mil black plastic to help separate the house from the ground. It works as a vapor barrier to keep moisture from seeping inside. The crew lays down the barrier with a proper overlap along each edge, and uses mechanical fasteners to attach the vapor barrier to the foundation walls. This waterproofing system will assist all present problems and the owners were grateful for the service of John's!
