Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: The Goonies' Guide to a Dry Crawl Space - Astoria, OR

A family was moving into their new home in Astoria and wanted to take preventative measures on all parts of the house, including the crawl space below. They called John's Waterproofing for a free inspection, and we came out to see what we could do to help protect their home and get the best bang for their buck. The project started with a complete debris cleanout, removing all standing water, mud, and torn vapor barrier. Once everything cleared out, a trench was dug along the interior perimeter of the crawl space. Perf Pipe was installed inside the trench to collect water and direct it toward a sump pump. A SuperSump Plus was installed at the lowest point of the crawl space to help efficiently collect and pump out excess water. The SuperSump Plus pump sends collected water away from the home through a discharge line. To top the project off, a new vapor barrier was anchored across the dirt floor and run up the walls, helping keep ground moisture from rising into the crawl space and causing future moisture issues. With the crawl space cleaned up and protected against standing water issues, this Astoria home is better prepared.
