Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Swampy Crawl Space - Gresham, OR

John's Waterproofing came to do a free inspection and discovered a muddy crawl space that had severe water damage, early signs of rotting wood, and drooping fiberglass. The homeowners were relieved to finally figure out the issues underneath their home and they both collaborated on a plan to repair their home.  First things first, our crew began to remove all fiberglass and debris to be able to have a fresh start for the interior. A perforated pipe is first installed around the perimeter of the interior crawl space that will collect any water that finds its way inside. The pipe will flow the path of least resistance that will lead to the newly installed sump pump. The sump pump chosen was the heavy duty SuperSump that will take the collected water and pump it outside of the home. The water will travel through a connected discharge line that will exit a safe distance from the house. We than seal the vents shut and lay TerraBlock over the dirt floor. Over this we used CleanSpace. This top tier thick 20 mil white liner will give a more clean sleek look that will easily show off the mold free crawl space. The crew will lay down the barrier with a proper overlap along each edge, and use mechanical fasteners to attach this vapor barrier to the foundation walls, as well as sealing each seam with our CleanSpace tape. Lastly, we installed a SaniDry dehumidifier to dry and filter the air. The SaniDry will take ten times the amount of water out of the air as a typical dehumidifier, yet it uses the same energy. The crawl space is no longer a swamp, but a clean, dry, and healthy area underneath the home!
