This homeowner started to notice their cooling costs were higher than usual and couldn’t figure out the problem. They messed with their air conditioning and spent way too much on bills. They tried looking online to find answers and realized they were in need of an appointment with John's Waterproofing. Our Design Specialist arrived and inspected the exterior and interior for signs or evidence to the issue. They explained that they found fallen fiberglass cluttered on the ground, tears in the vapor barrier, and dirt exposed inside the crawl space. The homeowner and the Design Specialist collaborated on a plan to save their crawl space before it continues to negatively affect their home.  The crew started with removing all insulation and debris to have a fresh start to the process. We then installed a SmartDrain, this will set off an alarm should a plumbing leak occur. The home had no signs or history of ground water damage, so this was the proactive choice. Moving on, we started to secure TerraBlock onto the dirt floors as insulation. TerraBlock is great for combatting the specific needs in the crawl space while being extremely durable and long lasting. On top of the TerraBlock, we lay down CleanSpace, a thick 20 mil white liner. When combined with other products, CleanSpace will assist in lowering humidity, keeping the space mold free, and have a sleek clean finish to brighten up the crawl space. The vapor barrier can control outside air infiltration and heat loss that will stop the hot air from seeping through the sub floors and into the home. Another way we can keep the outside air away from entering is installing an EverLast Door. This door will be secured to the exterior entrance and completely seal off the opportunity from anything coming inside. EverLast Doors last for years in damp environments and remain looking neat. Next, we insulate the foundation walls with Spray Foam. This is the modern closed-cell insulation. Spray Foam provides an 100% air seal by filling every space and void. Cold, warm, and moist air are unable to penetrate through the walls, reducing energy bills. Our final step is the cherry on top, installing the SaniDry Sedona. This dehumidifier is the key product to solve the homeowner's problem. The crew installs the SaniDry that will circulate dry and filtered air throughout the crawl space. Having an efficient high performance dehumidifier will lower bills and decrease the home's temperature.
