Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Installing a CleanSpace System in Portland, OR

This homeowner called John's Waterproofing in hopes of upgrading their crawl space into a full encapsulation. We scheduled a specialist to go out and thoroughly assessed the space. Then, we wrote up an estimate and went over the game plan with the homeowner. Once all questions were addressed, the project was scheduled. We start by removing all of the old vapor barrier and fiberglass insulation. Then, since there was not much water intrusion we installed our SmartDrain system. This will ensure that should a plumbing leak occur, once water reaches this, it has a safe exit point, and an alarm will sound to alert the owners of the issue. Following this, to control the environment, we cover and seal all of the vents to prevent outside air from entering. Next, we place our TerraBlock system directly onto the dirt floor to create an insulated barrier between the home and the earth. On top of the TerraBlock we install our CleanSpace system which is our 20 mil thick liner that will not only brighten up the space but contains a woven fiber through the material to deter rodents. This is inserted between each wooden post and the footing. We then install our SaniDry Sedona to keep the space at a healthy relative humidity while eliminating damp and musty odors. To finish this project we spray our foam insulation onto the foundation walls, up to the rim joists making sure to fill every crack and void ensuring a complete airtight seal for this home. Now that this encapsulation is finished, the homeowner can now feel the difference in their home.
