When our design specialist arrived at this home, he began by performing a thorough, and FREE Inspection, and from his findings, he drew up a customized proposal for the homeowner, which detailed noted issues, and offered professional, effective solutions. This homes crawl space was not properly waterproofed, which had caused a myriad of issues, such as: cracks in the concrete foundation wall leading to instability throughout the home, a musty odor wafting up through the subfloor, and an unhealthy air quality caused by the growth of bacteria in the wet environment of the crawl space. One side of the below-grade foundation wall sat in a heavily saturated space, where ground water flowed unrestricted straight through the foundation wall for many years, resulting in hydrostatic pressure build-up, and causing the concrete to crack. Professional waterproofing of this homes crawl space, as well as the exterior portion of the below-grade foundation wall was absolutely imperative to prevent further water damage, and to improve the air quality within the home.  On the day of the job, our crew of waterproofing experts arrived, and removed all of the old and nasty debris from beneath the home. When the crawl space was stripped of all filth, they began installing our Pipe, Pump, Plastic system. Our PPP system has been used effectively for decades, to protect homes from groundwater damage. First, drainage is installed around the full interior perimeter of the space, to collect all future water intrusion. This water moves to the low point where it enters a sump pump to be discharged far away from the home via an underground discharge line. The final component of our PPP System is a fresh, 6 Mil Vapor Barrier, laid down to cover the entire dirt floor of the crawl space, as well as the foundation walls, to prevent water from seeping in. Lastly, because one side of the below-grade foundation wall was located in a high volume ground water accumulation area, our crew also installed an exterior drain system along its exterior side, to collect ground water, and carry it away from the foundation wall. The crawl space of this home is now protected from further water damage, and the foundation walls will no longer be assaulted by non-restricted ground water flow creating hydrostatic pressure build-up against them. Additionally, with the crawl space no longer wet and festering, the air quality within the home has been dramatically improved, and this family can now truly thrive in health and stability for many years to come.
