Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Damp and Dirty Crawl Space - West Linn, OR

This crawl space was in severe need of attention. Untouched for years, water, rodents, and debris had found their way in. The vapor barrier was torn and bunched, allowing moisture to rise into the space, rot the supporting wooden posts and create an environment perfect for mold growth. By calling John's Waterproofing, the homeowners took a much-needed step towards protecting their home. After a free inspection, our team worked alongside the homeowners to build a plan that best fit their needs and budget.  The project started with the removal of all dirt, debris, and the old vapor barrier. Then, a trench was dug along the perimeter, where a Perf Pipe drainage system was installed. Wrapped in a silt sock to keep debris out, the Perf Pipe collects water from the walls and ground and sends it to the sump pump. Next, a SuperSump Plus was installed to take that collected water and pump it out of the crawl space through a discharge line. Once the drainage system was in place, a fresh 6-mil vapor barrier was anchored to the floor and wrapped along the support post footings, providing a clean barrier between the crawl space and damp soil below. The work was complete, and this crawl space was ready to stay cleaner and drier for years to come.
