This crawl space needed just about everything for its revival. The structure above was too heavy, causing the wooden support beams to bow. Cracks had formed in the foundation, exterior vents were letting in outside air, and water was seeping into the crawl space. To top it all off, humidity levels were high, putting mold on the horizon. To help, we sent out a design specialist and worked alongside them to create a plan for a full crawl space encapsulation. Our waterproofing and structural crew worked hand in hand to bring this crawl space back to life. Every bit of debris was removed, and 6 SmartJacks paired with new wood beams were installed to further stabilize and protect the home. To address water, a trench was dug around the interior perimeter to install a Perf Pipe drainage system. Next, a SuperSump Plus was installed to collect water from the drainage system and pump it out of the home. Then it was time for the encapsulation. Every vent was sealed with a durable vent cover, while foundation cracks were filled with epoxy and reinforced with carbon fiber stitching. SilverGlo wall panels were installed along the foundation walls to help radiate heat back into the crawl space while directing wall seepage down toward the drainage system. TerraBlock, a thick foam insulation, was laid across the dirt floor and covered with CleanSpace, a heavy-duty 20-mil vapor barrier. Finally, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was installed to regulate humidity levels and help prevent mold growth. The crawl space is now sealed, stabilized, and protected, and is ready to be water-free for years to come!
