A home in Camas had major issues lurking below the surface. Debris, dirt, and standing water filled the crawl space that could soon lead to health hazards in the home above. Alongside the homeowners, our design specialist devised a plan to waterproof the crawl space while staying within their budget.
The project began with the removal of all debris and standing water. Once the space was cleared and a blank slate was made, we dug a trench along the interior perimeter of the crawl space. A perforated pipe was installed in the trench to capture excess water and send it to the sump pump. Next, a SuperSump Plus was installed at the lowest point of the crawl space, creating the easiest pathway for water collected by the Perf Pipe to travel to be discharged. After the systems were in place, a new 6-mil vapor barrier was anchored to the soil throughout the crawl space. The space was finally dry and protected, giving this home a stronger defense against any groundwater that may intrude.
Nasty Crawl Space in Need of an Update
This crawl space was a crime scene, with cobwebs, dirt, debris, and a torn vapor barrier. The damaged barrier left the space vulnerable to moisture.
Torn, Wet Vapor Barrier
Standing water had collected on top of the old, torn vapor barrier, leaving behind mud and debris.
SuperSump Plus
The SuperSump Plus sump pump system takes the collected water and send its out of the crawl space through a discharge line.
Completed Crawl Space
The crawl space was finished with a new perforated pipe, sump pump, and vapor barrier in place, leaving the space dry and ready to protect the home from water intrusion.
