Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Upgrading Old Crawl Space System in Hillsboro, OR

These homeowners reached out to us when they noticed that the old pump in their crawl space was no longer working properly. We went out and thoroughly inspected this crawl space to help find them a permanent, long term solution. The crawl space was full of moisture and there were clear signs of rodent activity. Dark, humid and dirty environments create a perfect environment for not only rodents to thrive, but also mold and mildew. After the thorough inspection, we met with the homeowners and we went over options, creating a solution that will address all of the problems. We first went in and removed all of the debris, including the old pump, fiberglass insulation and old vapor barrier. Next, we dig a trench around the interior perimeter of the crawl space and in it, we installed a 3 inch perforated into a silt sock. This creates a secure passage for water to drain to the lowest point, and then at the low point we install our SuperSump Plus that will collect all of the water that enters and pump it outside of the home through a discharge line. Following this, we cover and seal all of the vents to prevent outside air from entering. On the dirt floor of the crawl space we install our TerraBlock which acts as an insulated barrier, lowering the homes heating and cooling costs. We then install our CleanSpace material which is 20 mil thick and this goes on top of the TerraBlock, between the footing and the wooden post as well as up the foundation walls, to the rim joists. To keep the humidity controlled we install our SaniDry Sedona that will eliminate damp and musty odors by drying and filtering the air as well as keeping the home at a healthy relative humidity. Lastly we install our foundation wall insulation. This is our foam insulation that is sprayed onto the foundation walls, up to the rim joists and will expand, filling every crack and void ensuring the ultimate airtight seal. Now, this crawl space is fully upgraded from the old system, these homeowners can be sure that their home is safe and protected for years to come.
