Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Precautionary Steps; An Encapsulation in Kenmore, WA

During a home show, homeowners saw our encapsulation work and were amazed. They quickly requested a free inspection from John's Waterproofing in order to get an encapsulation done for their own home. One of our design specialists was sent to the home and checked out the crawl space to create a plan that would work best with what they had. Though severe water intrusion wasn't a problem in this crawl space, the homeowners wanted to take the necessary precautionary steps to save their home before a future issue arose.  The encapsulation project started with the removal of all debris, including the torn vapor barrier and failing fiberglass insulation. Next, a SmartDrain was installed to capture any potential water that may come from plumbing leaks and alert the homeowners. After that, SilverGlo wall panels were installed along the foundation walls for proper insulation. Then came the installation of TerraBlock and CleanSpace, the ultimate encapsulation duo. TerraBlock is a thick foam insulation that is laid across the dirt floor, while CleanSpace is a 20-mil vapor barrier, ensuring no water, pests, rodents, or debris can get through and into the crawl space. The finishing touch was the addition of a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier, keeping the crawl space's humidity maintained and protected from mold and rot. The home was finally protected for years to come, thanks to John's Waterproofing and the homeowners' preventative actions!
