Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: An Encapsulation Built to Last - Greenbank, WA
During a free inspection, John's noticed several issues in the crawl space. The previous sump pump was failing. The poor-quality vapor barrier was ripped, leaving the crawl space vulnerable to rising moisture. Humidity levels were high, and mold was on the horizon. It was time for an encapsulation. Debris was removed, and Perf Pipe was installed in a trench along the perimeter. A TripleSafe sump pump was installed in the lowest point of the crawl space. Then, TerraBlock, a thick foam insulation, was laid along the floor, with CleanSpace, a 20-mil vapor barrier, on top. SilverGlo wall panels were attached to the foundation to allow for more consistent temperatures and to send water from the walls down to the Perf Pipe. Lastly, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was added to take control of the high humidity and automatically keep it at a level best to prevent mold and rot. This crawl space was sealed off from the outside world, and ready to fight any battle against water, mold, mildew, and pests, thanks to John's Waterproofing.
Musty Crawl Space
This crawl space was dirty, damp, and damaged. Nothing worked the way it should and was becoming a severe health and safety hazard.
TripleSafe
The TripleSafe sump pump is a top choice, featuring three separate pumps for maximum protection against water intrusion.
SilverGlo
SilverGlo, a wall insulation, radiates heat back into the space, allowing for more consistent temperatures in the home above. Installing SilverGlo also creates a pathway for any wall seepage to flow down to the Perf Pipe and be expelled from the crawl space.
Encapsulated Crawl Space
The crawl space was finished and waterproofed for good. Not a bit of water could find its way into the crawl space and create further problems.
