Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Major Flooding in Crawl Space - Mount Hood Parkdale, OR
This homes crawl space had a lower section in their crawl space that was flooded. It was a damp and musty mess of water. The owners of the home didn't know where to begin to fix the problem and so they contacted John's Waterproofing for some professional help. We did a full inspection and than sat down with the owners to go over our findings, as well as repair plan options. Ultimately the owners chose to move forward with a full encapsulation. This system uses a full drain system with a sump pump to ensure ground water won't be found within the crawl space. We also replace the damp fiberglass insulation with insulation that is made for the crawl space; TerraBlock and Spray Foam. The space is sealed up tight and we can now control the space so it can remain dry and healthy from here on out.
Before - Crawl Space Entryway
The crawl space entryway had fallen fiberglass insulation and a general mess of dust and debris with the old 6 mil out of place
Flooding Concerns
On the far side of the crawl space it was flooded.
CleanSpace Vapor Barrier
To seal the space up we closed the vents and sealed CleanSpace into place. This wraps between each wooden post and footing, is anchored and sealed on the foundation walls, and sealed along each seam with a four inch wide waterproof tape
After - Crawl Space Entryway
Once encapsulated the crawl space is much more welcoming and healthy
Sump Pump System
To keep water from flooding the space, the sump pump will collect water from the new drains and send it all a safe distance away from the homes foundation
