This homeowners crawl space was a disaster, and was causing several issues in the home. They reached out to John's in hopes of a finding a permanent solution. We sent out one of knowledgeable system design specialist to perform a free inspection and estimate. After, he met with the homeowner to go over any questions and best options. They decided an encapsulation was the best route to take. To begin, we removed all the debris along with the fallen fiberglass insulation. This home did not have much water, so we install our SmartDrain. This will alert the homeowner of a possible plumbing leak with an audible alarm and will drain the water to a drywell underneath the CleanSpace until the leak can be fixed. We then install our TerraBlock system on the dirt floor of the crawl space and this will create an insulated barrier between the home and the earth. On top of the TerraBlock, we install our CleanSpace system. This will go along the foundation walls as well as up to the rim joists, and is sealed with our waterproof tape against the footing of the wooden posts. In this process, all the vents in this crawl space are sealed to prevent outside air from entering. We also install our EverLast Door that will provide outside access to the crawl space and will adapt to all weather conditions. We then install our SaniDry Sedona that will help with controlling the environment by drying and filtering the air and keeping the space at a healthy relative humidity. Lastly, we install our foam insulation. We spray the foam along the foundation walls, up to the rim joists ensuring a complete air tight seal in this crawl space. With an encapsulated crawl space, this homeowner does not have to worry about damp, musty smells, pests or rodent intrusion or high energy bills.
